We envision a future where the path to footballing greatness is paved with the experience gained at Virgil’s Legacy Trophy. Our goal is to create a lasting legacy that honors the roots of the game while pushing the boundaries of what youth tournaments can achieve.

We look forward to a weekend when the world’s greatest players look back at their time in Tilburg as the moment their professional dreams took flight. The tournament

Virgil’s Legacy Trophy is meticulously designed to provide a world-class competitive experience for the stars of tomorrow. We bridge the gap between youth academy training and professional stadium reality.

  • Age group: U13

  • Duration: 2,5 days

  • Format: 11v11

  • Level: Europe most prestigious clubs

  • Invitation: invite only

  • Venue: youth academy Willem II, and Koning Willem II Stadion (the final).

We believe that a professional mindset is built both on and off the pitch. Virgil's Legacy Trophy is structured to reflect the life of a professional athlete:

Friday: the grand opening

The tournament kicks off on Friday evening with a high-energy Opening Ceremony. This is where the 16 teams gather to hear from Virgil and special guests, setting the tone for a weekend of respect, intensity, and inspiration.

Saturday: the battle for the bracket

A full day of high-octane group stage matches at the Sportpark Prinsenhoeve. Every minute counts as teams fight for a place in the Sunday knockout rounds.

Sunday: the stadium final
The competition reaches its climax as the action moves to the Koning Willem II Stadium. Walking out of the tunnel into a professional arena, players get their first true taste of stadium football, culminating in the crowning of the Champions.
